Innovation Requires Asking the Right Questions

Strategy& (formerly Boos & Co, now a division of PWC) blog, “Strategy+Business” has a review of Warren Berger’s new book A More Beautiful Question: The Power of Inquiry to Spark Breakthrough Ideas (Bloomsbury, 2014).  Berger illustrates the role of questions in spurring creativity and shows that it’s more important to ask the right questions. “The old, closed questions (How many? How much? How fast?) still matter on a practical level,” says Berger, “but increasingly businesses must tackle more sophisticated open questions (Why? What if? How?) to thrive in an environment that demands a clearer sense of purpose, a vision of the future, and appetite for change.”
